What’s up with you and spiritual guidance? What really helps versus what hinders?

Here comes perspective from my work, helping clients during thousands of session hours; using energetic literacy skills and skilled empath merge to learn real consequences of practices that are advocated in New Age spirituality and many religions.

An important influence on my life, and this part of my work, is depth study with Teaching of the INNER Christ. Babaji-inspired, sparkling wisdom from this group taught me so much about how to co-create with God, especially concepts and skills for cleaning up certain types of astral debris.

TIC leaders were consulted when I thought of writing “Use Your Power of Command for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection,” which adapts and adds to a portion of TIC about healing. My adaptation of some TIC healings does have their blessing, as well as my grateful acknowledgment. Of course, my perspective with Energy Spirituality and its many trademarked systems is unique, and I take full responsibility for my ideas, techniques, analogies, silly jokes, etc.

Presumptous though it might be to call my little article “The Answers,” at least I can supply “The Answers to Rose Rosetree’s Quiz about Guidance, in her humble opinion.”

Incidentally, if you didn’t take that quiz yet, here is your link to our Guidance and Messages Quiz. This article will be much more helpful and informative if, first, you take the time to answer each question. (And that means “write down an answer” rather than skimming the quiz for shock value.)

To receive even better results from this educational exercise, consider writing your responses in the COMMENTS box at the end of the post.

That said, let’s be clear about this quiz and all answers that follow. I honor your personal path to Enlightenment. I have the greatest respect for you as a wise human being. Your path to Enlightenment (or whatever you call your highest goal) is intimately personal, your choice alone. I get that. In fact….

The cute little trick built into this guidance quiz

Using your spiritual self-authority, you will react to all my answers below. (Of course, your reactions will be especially strong and clear if you have already written down your answers to each quiz item, as suggested.)

What matters isn’t my answers so much as your response to them. Because those responses, whether YES or NO, will come strongly from your human self. To me, that is the point of this entire exercise.

Of course, you have your own human reactions. Those thoughts and feelings, those feedback sensations in your brilliant human body — all your lifelong gifts for deeper perception — are pure gold. These human guide you on your path to Enlightenment, always have and always can.

Even if you now consider it preferable to supplement human self-authority with guidance or attention to messages, be aware that over the decades your spiritual path to Enlightenment might change. The one constant factor — and I would add, “The one indispensible gift, no matter what — is your human, personal, simple self-authority.”

So, here come Rose Rosetree’s answers, at this particular time, to the controversial questions below.

Each official quiz question will be highlighted like this one.

Guidance and Message Question #1: All guidance comes from God

“Receiving messages” means receiving messages from spirit, from God.

Such a tricky question to start with because:

TRUE, all messages come from God. All things are God. All people are God. All animals, all things, even my friend’s cellphone that recently dropped into the toilet. All of this is God, God, God.

The essence of every experience, perception, thought, etc. you ever will have in this lifetime (and beyond) is from God.

So three cheers for you, if you experience this effortlessly as your everyday state of consciousness. Which is different from thinking, “Sure, in theory, I guess such an experience is possible.”

Spontaneously living with a direct experience of “Thou art That” means spiritual Enlightenment. For the rest of us, the answer to this quiz question is…

FALSE. Relatively speaking, all beings in God’s creation are not full-force, perfected, Enlightened beings.

    • Ascended Masters, Archangels, Cherubs, Seraphs, Thrones, etc. are Divine Beings, the etheric equivalent of Enlightened human beings.
    • Angels, spirits, spirit guides, ancestors, “whoever comes from the light,” dead people being channeled, etc. are all astral beings. That is what all of us were before incarnating here, probably. Unless some came to earth now to do a Bodhisattva thing and help humanity make what I call “The Great Leap.”
    • That wino down the street, sleeping off his latest stupor, is human for now. When the body drops away, he will most likely be a ghost, a stuck spirit. This astral being might be the very being consulted by you just because you are open to messages and, boy oh boy, does this guy have plenty of messages.
    • Sure this guy might call himself “Jesus” or “Archangel Gabriel.” What does that prove? You can go into mental hospitals and find human beings who have given themselves those same names.
    • When an angel wants to evolve, not just learn, that angel needs to incarnate into a learning academy, such as Earth School. Hence YOUR experience, Blog-Buddy, as a human being.

It’s quite likely that each of you human Blog-Buddies lives with a higher state of consciousness than any astral being who might give you a message.

Guidance and Message Question #2: Instant messaging from the Divine

When evolved enough spiritually, you will receive messages constantly.

TRUE, if you believe the purpose of your life as a human is to be a kind of Pinocchio-like ventriloquist’s dummy. Go for it. You can make your life a perpetual spiritual exercise, asking questions and receiving messages constantly.

Will you evolve fast that way? Not particularly. Because spiritual evolution isn’t the special excellence of a sweet puppet.

However, you will undoubtedly have a very interesting incarnation. In retrospect especially, the experiment will be very instructive.

FALSE, if you’re into moving rapidly towards Enlightenment as a human being.

Leave constant reception of messages to your electronic companions, such as your TV set.

God happened to give you a mind of your own, plus a heart, a brain, a scarecrow.

Just kidding about that last part, in case some of you are thinking “Wizard of Oz.”

Guidance and Message Question #3: You got mail. Pick it up.

Spiritual life is a test, and you are constantly being tested. Will you pick up the messages or miss them?

TRUE, if your relationship to guidance is like some folks’ relationships to their cell phones. Is your first act on waking to check your messages? Do you consider a “hot date” like what I observed recently at a four-star restaurant? After Joe and Gladys chatted a bit, and finished toying with their expensive food, they got down to the real fun of the meal, texting their friends.

Otherwise, FALSE. Your relationship to angelic guidance could be like my relationship to my mobile phone and the voice mail for my land line. Mostly I don’t listen. I turn it off.

How come? I have a life. I do things as a human being. I enjoy that lifetime of mine. I engage full-force in that human life. To me, that human life is precious — my family and friends, my garden, my hobbies, my work, my spiritual practices.

Only occasionally during my day will I stop for whatever random messages come in. I choose. Because, to paraphrase the great songwriter and singer Tom Chapin, “I am the boss of my brain.” (Thank you, Tom, for helping two-year-olds learn about self-authority.)

Blog-Buddies, you get to choose your priorities in life. Why believe that receiving someone else’s messages or psychic “hits” are the purpose of your personal life?

Guidance and Message Question #4: Synchronicity

Everything happens for a reason. If you are a beginner at receiving message, you can start right where you are. Be vigilant, constantly paying attention to synchronicity. Important messages can be hidden in everyday coincidences.

TRUE. If you want to pay attention, this will absolutely be true. Such a fun way to live, especially if you’re high on marijuana, LSD, or other mind-altering drugs!

And very often people move from a pot addiction to dependency upon psychic development. The vibrational positioning is quite similar, actually.

FALSE, if you want to do little human things like make more money, thrill to a healthy love life, enjoy more credibility and effectiveness in daily life.

The false part isn’t about whether or not messages and synchronicities are available. It’s more about the falseless of a life that depends on sweet, random detours, as with the following garbage analogy:

Imagine that you are walking down the street in my home town, Flushing, Queens (part of New York City). Because “everything happens for a reason,” you won’t walk too quickly down that block. Instead you will stop every time you come to a piece of trash on the ground.

Tenderly, you might carry that garbage to the trash, pondering its cosmic meaning. Because surely “there must be a reason” why you encounter each used fast food wrapper or piece of dog poop.

Of course, during your lunch hour you might never get to the end of one block. At least, the street would be somewhat cleaner. (Unless Flushing has changed a lot since I lived there, it’s Trash Day every day.)

Oops, walk time up! No mission accomplished. Except for picking up lots of random trash and messages.

Is that really how you want to spend your time? Or your life? (See what I mean about saying that dependence on angels and psychic development has a lot in common with smoking pot?)

Most mentally healthy people would rather just take a walk. Or go somewhere, like toward the subway or a place to eat lunch.

And those mentally healthy human beings could also be moving quite rapidly (if un-self-consciously) toward Enlightenment.

Guidance and Message Question #5: Surrender

After you pick up a message, part of the spiritual test is that you drop everything else you are doing and immediately surrender to the Will of God by doing what you are commanded to do.

Such a sweet idea! But FALSE.

What brings a sense of urgency to your being an angel-like messenger, available for conveying messages from angels (or random dead people, now in the form of astral entities, whoever)?

  1. In your belief system if you believe God is testing you, that could add urgency.
  2. If you carry loads of stuck spirits in your aura, due to constantly picking up messages, there will be a certain Rah-Rah from the subconscious level, thanks to your astral cheering squad. (To learn more about this Flypaper Effect, plus how to stop it, you can find clear instructions in the how-to, “Use Your Power of Command for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection.”)
  3. Of if you simply have loads of STUFF stuck in your aura, also at an astral level, STUFF from cords of attachment or other astral-level debris that causes you to feel stuck, stuck, stuck.
  • These three possibilities are not mutually exclusive. Often they are mutually reinforcing.

Guidance and Message Question #6: Believing in angels, spirits, guides

Angels are God’s messengers. It is an honor to be given messages from guides, spirits, or any other being from The Other Side.

TRUE. If your priority in life is to be a message-taker, the astral beings will like you a lot, and you can consider yourself “Beloved of God.”

Of course, you could consider yourself “Beloved of God” without taking the messages or believing in angels, spirits, guides, etc.

Otherwise, FALSE. It doesn’t have to be considered such a big honor.

I have met New Agers who constantly consult their guides or do pendling or otherwise check, “What should I do?”

They might be insulted at my mentioning this, but here at my personal blog, I’m going to go ahead and say it.

Constantly consulting astral beings like angels is pretty much the same thing as worshipping them.

Maybe Joe doesn’t get down on his hands and knees to pray to the guide who speaks to him. But if he bases much, or most of his life, on following an astral guide’s advice, that does constitute a form of outsourcing or worship.

If you disagree, would you please put into words how, exactly, it’s different?

No wonder every major religion I have studied, and many rigorous spiritual paths that produce Enlightenment, agree on this point: Don’t get caught up in angels or other psychic phenomena. It’s a distraction. Pay attention to God.

Over at the Enlightenment Life List at this blog, note how many professional psychics, mediums, and channelers have made it onto this list. ZERO.

Okay, let’s stop today’s post right here, so you can comment away. Add to this group educational experience!
